This case takes Colby into Silicon Valley, the high-tech scene, and the music scene. Colby is back in the saddle, so to speak, after The Old Ways. He has a partner, Walter, who is a Silicon Valley success, and now works for Jake. The wife of a Silicon Valley executive is murdered on the front steps of her townhouse in Palo Alto, California. With almost no where to start an investigation, Jake and Walter decide to setup surveillance cameras at the murder scene on the off chance that they might catch something on camera that gets their investigation started. This quickly moves the action from mystery to deeper mystery when their cameras capture the murder victim on camera. She is dead of course and should not be walking past her townhouse. This gets the investigation started and after twists and turns leads Jake and Walter to the killers.
