Kelso is a silver miner in Tonopah, Nevada. He worked a small claim for several years with a plan to retire to Bishop, California. One day a couple of stumblebums attack Kelso demanding his silver. Kelso sends them on a wild goose chase while he makes plans to take his silver and head for Bishop. Over the years Kelso put silver in the bank in Bishop for his retirement. This silver he would use to build a little ranch. Kelso closes down his mine and takes his remaining silver and heads for Bishop, but he gets waylaid three times before he escapes Nevada into California and on to Bishop.
