Archer is a collection of stories (7) about a modern-day cowboy named Archer. Archer makes his living working on ranches along highway 99 in California. He works two days at each ranch each week, largely do chores the permanent ranch hands don’t like to do.
Archer has aspiration to be a rodeo cowboy. One of the ranches where Archer works has amateur rodeo events for the ranch hands. Archer takes part in these events and has built a reputation for himself as a Bronc Rider. The stories follow Archer along until he gets an opportunity to ride in a real rodeo.
