The gold fields of Prescott attracted people from far and wide. Most came to find gold, some came just to make a new life, some came to steal gold. People from many walks of life populated these stories. The stories are set in the mid-1800’s, right after the Civil War. Of those who came to find gold and their fortunes, some succeeded, some did not. They found their fortunes on the bottoms of the many creeks in the area. Josie Adriana found her fortune on the bottoms of her wash tubs. Sheriff Turner Mitchel came to live and work and keep some order.
